Subject: UW-Madison Instructor Kevin Barrett - Suggests that Bush Be Tried and Executed for TreasonBelow is the actual text of a letter that UW-Madison Instructor Kevin Barrett sent to the Secret Service. In it he suggests that President Bush should be tried and executed for treason (emphasis added). Note at the bottom of this letter, he includes his position at UW-Madison. MUJCA Coordinator Questions Secret Service on Kentucky Gun Confiscationemailed to: http://www.ustreas.gov/usss/contact_usss.shtmlPublic Relations Office
United States Secret ServiceTo Whom It May Concern,
It has come to my attention that Michael Cook, a Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth activist in Kentucky, has been visited by four of your agents, and that his lawfully-possessed firearms have been twice confiscated as the result of an email statement Mr. Cook made concerning our twice-unelected, World Trade Center destroying pseudo-President. Mr. Cook’s email statement made no threat, but simply predicted: “Eventually he (Bush)
will be shot for treason.”I am writing because I am concerned that Mr. Cook’s statement may be incorrect, and I wish to request Secret Service guidelines about how I may correct Mr. Cook’s mistake without running afoul of your agents. As I understand it, the usual penalty for treason is hanging, not death by firing squad. In that case, it is likely that Mr. Bush will be hanged, not shot, for treason. By making this prediction, am I running the risk of having my clothesline confiscated? I also think that there is a real possibility that Mr. Bush will be electrocuted for the mass murder of 2,500 Americans in the World Trade Center. By stating this, am I risking a court order shutting off my electricity? I also foresee a small but very real possibility that Mr. Bush will die in the gas chamber. Does raising this possibility mean that my gas could be cut
off?
I appreciate the difficulty you guys must be having doing your job right now, with tens of millions of Americans calling for Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and company to be prosecuted and (presumably) executed for 9/11 high treason. With almost half the country believing the official 9/11 story is a cover-up (Zogby poll, May 2006) it won’t be long before an overwhelming majority of Americans joins Mr. Cook in eagerly anticipating Bush’s execution–which will put you fellas in a difficult position. Maybe it’s time to save the country a lot of
heartache, and rat out whoever it was in the SS who kept Bush at that school in Florida long after the second plane hit the building.Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to not hearing from you — though if my clothesline disappears I’ll know who it was.
Sincerely,
Kevin Barrett

This letter is so off the wall I can hardly believe it is authentic.
Now, I went to the UW; I know a great many profs and TAs have whacked-out liberal views. Their own mind on their own time…no beef from me. But when they use their position, either through lectures in the classroom or letters to government officials, to advance their loony agenda…then we have a problem. Equally disturbing is the fact that this guy was able to obtain employment in the first place. Even liberal bloggers are calling him a moonbat. Does anyone think someone who writes such a screed to the Secret Service is capable of teaching Wisconsin’s kids?

Hey, Flakey -
Why don’t we wait and see what the Provost does about this? If the university jumped every time one of the idiot commentators like you belches there would be no classes taught.

[…] Hat tip to Brian Fraley at Fraley’s DailyTakes, who has the original of Kevin Barrett’s moonbat screed to the U.S. Secret Service. […]

This post is interesting when you compare it to the Declaration of Independence post above.

There has been much written about this nutbar on all sides of the issue with very few of the flakiest defending Barrett.
I’m having difficulty figuring out what purpose you intend by posting an e-mail of an e-mail that may or may not reflect the views of someone who received it from someone else. Your protestations of disbelief ring hollow in light of the fact that you call for action based upon it.
Your posting does little to clarify the issues here. It does nothing to improve the debate about what did happen that day and what has happened since. It only serves to grab a little attention for yourself.
The UW has to deal with Barrett. He doesn’t have tenure and is unlikely to receive it at this point. The problem will go away. You are doing nothing to help solve it with this speculative, inane post.

Thanks for this inane posting Brian. I haven’t read this anywhere else. It really is scary that this person is “teaching” at the UW.
I didn’t realize it was the job of bloggers to “solve” things with postings. I always thought it was more of a way to share your thoughts and ideas and to get information out there that seems to be missing from mainstream media. Guess I’ll go visit Grumps page to see all the things he has solved.

This Kevin guy sucks, but everyone should quit worrying about this douchebag and instead start supporting the Billy Petrick Fan Club.

I reluctantly take an opposing view to the general critical trend here. The way free speach works, the crazy’s hang themselves by their own words. Not only should the guy be permitted to teach. He should be encouraged to out his own delusion as a object lesson to others who will face assault of ever more subtle irrationalitys when they graduate and hit the bricks.
Exposure, not censure, is the cure. We don’t need another whacko martyr to hang. Through free and unfettered speach we discard outrageous concepts to arrive at the set of agreements a sane society.
You’re taking him too seriously. Let him rant!

Why do you guys criticize the man’s sanity and not try to debate the “conspiracy” theory of 9-11 objectively? There are a lot of insightful facts that “loony” people reference to question the validity of the official story. How did the government obtain a copy of the terrorists passport from the wreckage, when the explosion destroyed even the blackbox? Why was the wreckage from 9-11 removed, violating standard safety procedures which require and examination of what compromised the buildings structural integrity. There is an overwhelming amount of conspiracy theories out there, and I feel an objective debate between people of all political affiliations, and between opposed opions about the occurences of 9-11 will do a better job of uncovering the truth than both sides hatefully dismissing each other. PEACE
