Voter ID Law Constitutional
April 28th, 2008
Good news from the Supreme Court of the United States.
The Supreme Court ruled Monday that states can require voters to produce photo identification without violating their constitutional rights, validating Republican-inspired voter ID laws.
In a splintered 6-3 ruling, the court upheld Indiana’s strict photo ID requirement, which Democrats and civil rights groups said would deter poor, older and minority voters from casting ballots. Its backers said it was needed to prevent fraud.
As long as Democrats remain obstructionists on this issue, however, voters in Wisconsin will not be required to prove they are who they say they are when showing up to cast their votes.

Of course the libs and Democrats object. What is offensive is their reasoning. The poor and miniorities are hurt the most they say. to me, that is a condensending and racist attitude. Just because you are poor or nor white, does not mean you don’t have the intelligence to get an ID, but that is what the libs say.
